LucasArts Cancelled Darth Maul Video Game

With the new deal that EA has with Disney and LucasArts to develop star Wars games, lots of fans everywhere are wondering just what will be next for the gaming side of things in the galaxy. While it’s looking like we could be getting a Han Solo or Boba Fett game, we almost got a Darth Maul game that would have put us in the shoes of the most badass character to ever pick up a lightsaber.

According to IGN, the game would have been vey similar to what the Batman: Arkham franchise is but would have focused on Darth Maul instead.

Per IGN:

Red Fly’s PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U game would have been a stealth action game inspired by Batman: Arkham Asylum, Game Informer revealed in its May 2014 issue. Maul was, as an anonymous developer described it, “insanely powerful and deadly, but one or two hits will take you out.”

It’s unclear how the game would have panned out, as Game Informer notes that George Lucas began to change the story around and move away from Darth Maul being the titular character just before the game was canceled.

So in addition to what looked to be a badass game in 1313, we now have a potential Darth Maul video game to stare at on the Star Wars video gam scrap heap.
