Daisy Ridley To Return for Episodes VIII and IX

Last week, Deadline Hollywood reported that Star Wars: Episode VII actress Daisy Ridley had agreed to sign with UTA.

From the Deadline report:

Among heated competition, UTA has signed Daisy Ridley. Why would there be heated competition for an actress I’ve never heard of? Well, she is the female lead in the J.J Abrams-directed resuscitation of Star Wars, and the plan is for her carry through to the second and third films that will be directed by Looper helmer Rian Johnson. Ridley was hired for Star Wars: Episode VII after a worldwide casting search.

Even though there have been no confirmed casting announcements made for Episode VIII or IX, it is probably safe to assume that Ridley will return for the remaining sequels. Many have speculated as to the role that she will play in the new Star Wars films but there has yet to be any information released about her character.

The young actress was practically unknown at the time of her Episode VII casting announcement, having appeared only in a few short films and television series. You can check out the full list of her credits on her IMDb profile. Wikipedia lists her age at 22 years old and standing at 5’7″ tall.

Ridley appears in a short film titled Blue Season, which was filmed in 2013 as a submission to Sci-Fi London 48 Hour Film Challenge. You can watch the 5 minute video below:

What do you think of this young British actress, Dork Siders? What role do you think she might play in the next series of Star Wars films?

We think that Ridley is a dead ringer for the granddaughter of Natalie Portman‘s Padme Amidala. Leave us a comment below and tell us what you think!
