We thoroughly examine the official Solo: A Star Wars Story teaser trailer with our screencap break-down.

If you’re still hung over or in a food coma from all the festivities of Super Bowl LII, we have just the thing to sober you up. Debuting on Good Morning America, the official Solo: A Star Wars teaser trailer picks up where the Super Bowl one left off, with exciting footage from the upcoming Han Solo featured film.

If you hit the snooze button and needed more sleep like Yoda — rest, rest you need — we have you covered. Check it out here:

Some of the same footage from the Super Bowl trailer resurfaces, but we have many new shots to break-down. Let’s jump right in and take a closer look, with our Solo: A Star Wars Story teaser trailer screencap break-down.

"I’ve been running scams on the street since I was ten. I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own."

Unlike the Super Bowl trailer, the newest teaser gives us much more of Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. The narration is from Solo’s point of view, providing us with a bit of insight on the character. It’s no surprise that Han Solo has taken to running scams and embracing the life as a scoundrel — which is out of necessity, come to find out. The title “Solo,” is fitting, with the young man being on his own since the age of ten.

Han Solo appears to be on the run, likely defecting from the Empire. He has broader goals than becoming an Imperial drone, with aspirations of becoming not such a bad pilot himself.

Did you notice a particular good luck charm hanging from the dash of Han Solo’s ride? Yes, the very dice we saw in A New Hope and throughout The Last Jedi. This token means something very special to Han Solo, where we know he uses them as a good luck charm in winning the Falcon from Lando.

Another look at the squeaky clean Millenium Falcon. It makes us wonder, what kind of Intergalactic keg party did Solo throw over the years? She looks rough during the events of A New Hope, which is only about ten years or so later after the events of Solo.

Or as Anthony Breznican from Entertainment Weekly points out, maybe it’s from years of smoking cigarettes. Calrissian sure kept that ship in top-notch condition, but we wouldn’t expect anything else from the luxurious Lando.

Solo: Star Wars Story shows the Falcon before it becomes a piece of junk.

"I’m going to be a pilot. The best in the galaxy."

The snowy planet looks to be his homeworld of Corellia, which we see on screen for the very first time in a Star Wars film. This shot of Han Solo is shades of his look in The Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens. I guess he truly is cold-blooded.

"Hey kid, I’m putting together a crew. You in?"

Tobias Beckett, played by veteran actor Woody Harrelson, is leading an Oceans 11 style heist, it seems. His crew is diverse, to say the least — with the likes of Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke), and other unknowns which we are itching to learn more about.

It seems they are using the Millenium Falcon as their mode of transportation, and what better way to do so than in the fastest ship in the galaxy.

"ROAAAAAR… That’s yes."

"I might be the only person who knows what you really are."

Narration by Clarke is a play on words, with a bit of misdirection. It’s likely that Han Solo’s identity as an Imperial is a secret from the rest of the crew, but this could also be referring to the fact that Han Solo may not be entirely the scoundrel everyone thinks he is. She may know what lengths he went in rescuing Chewie and other noble deeds, which we will see in the film.

"What’s that?"

Speaking of nobility, that very heart and spirit that Snoke refers to in The Last Jedi when he tells Kylo Ren he has too much of his father in him. Like father, like son — hearts of pure gold, just like Solo’s pair of dice.

Solo: A Star Wars Story: Space cowboy

Han Solo indeed is the original space cowboy, and he’s facing off against what appears to be the film’s antagonist or at the very least a foil for Solo. The villain seems to have a bit of a Mandalorian vibe to him, and a scary looking crew is backing him up.

Will Chewie come to his rescue or will his lucky pair of dice give him the luck he needs to escape? That mask looks an awful lot like Kylo Ren’s apparatus, doesn’t it? Perhaps it’s a coincidence, but likey there’s a reason for it, which I hope we explore.

"Get ready!"

The Imperials are in hot pursuit of the Solo and the rest of the heist crew. The Falcon is making all of the right moves in evading capture or destruction. Han Solo wasn’t lying when he tells Luke that he’s outrun Imperial starships, not the local bulk-cruisers.

"I thought we were in trouble there for a second. But it’s fine, we’re fine."

This line is a reference to when Han Solo engages in that improv conversation with the Stormtrooper.

"But, uh, everything’s perfectly all right now. We’re fine. We’re all fine here, now, thank you."

Han Solo is as suave as ever, you smooth talker you.

More from Dork Side of the Force

Phew. Now that we’ve all caught our breath, what a wild ride that trailer was. The most prominent concern Star Wars fans had was if Ehrenreich was going to pull off Han Solo. No one expects him to be as good, but he needs to make us think he’s Han Solo. So far, so good, with Ehrenreich not only looking the part but sounding the part as well.

Both trailers didn’t give too much away, either. It’s likely we will receive one more, full-length trailer before the Memorial Day release, but it will be a terrible mistake if they reveal too much. Save the moment, when Lando and Han are dueling it out in an intense match of Corellian Sabacc, for the film. The same rings true of Han rescuing Chewie from the Spice Mines of Kessel — as well as the epic Kessel run itself.

Overall, the teaser trailers both deliver, with the Disney/Lucasfilm on par to provide yet another fantastic and well-made film.
