We dissect all of the memorable moments from the Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer, with our screencap breakdown!

The full-length, official trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story is finally here, and boy, did it deliver the goods — bringing with it all of them nostalgic feels.

If for some reason you’ve been searching the Unknown Regions and missed it, stop what you’re doing and watch it below, now.

Honestly, how can you go wrong with a star-studded cast such as this one?

For those of you not able to move past Harrison Ford and his portrayal of Han Solo, give the new guy (Alden Ehrenreich) a fair shot. He even received the blessing of Mr. Ford himself, so that’s very promising moving forward.

We don’t know much about the overall plot of the movie, outside of the fact that we’ll receive a western/heist styled flick, but, it appears to be loads of fun — which is honestly all I want from this movie.

However, with Chewbacca embracing one of kin (likely his wife Mallatobuck or even his son Lumpawaroo), we expect the film to hit deeply on an emotional level too.

Let’s jump right in and take a frame-by-frame look at the theatrical trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, shall we?

Solo: A Star Wars Story gives off a dark, Imperial vibe

Right off the bat, the music accompanying the imagery encompasses as a western-like vibe. It’s different from past Star Wars trailers, and different is good. Solo: A Star Wars Story needs to have its own identity, and from what we’ve seen thus far, that’s what we’ll get with the movie.

Our first glimpse is possibly the world Mimban or maybe Han Solo and Q’ira’s homeworld of Corellia). Either way, the Imperial presence of the world is massive, with a breathtaking shot of a Star Destroyer in progress.

Much like The Force Awakens (a crashed Star Destroyer on Jakku) and Rogue One’s jaw-dropping view of the original Death Star, the trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story showcases the Empire’s might from their (certain) point of view.

The lovely Emilia Clarke provides the narration, giving us a glimpse into the character of Han Solo.

“You’re after something.”

Next, we get a closer look at Enfys Nest, the fearless leader of the pirate crew called the Cloud-Riders. Her mask (somewhat) resembles that of Kylo Ren and from the looks of things is someone you don’t want to mess with. Yes, Enfys is female — could it secretly be Q’ira? What a twist that would be!

“Is it revenge?”

A good portion of acting is the effective use of facial expressions, with Ehrenreich’s face full of concern and determination. Hayden Christensen had this down to a “T” in Attack of the Clones and especially Revenge of the Sith.  Ehrenreich has the look of Han Solo down to a “T,” the look of a rugged scoundrel.

What fuels a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story?

“Money”?

“Or is it something else”?

Could that “something else” be piloting a sweet ride, “Riding Solo” in the process?

“You look good.”

A little rough around the edges, but good.”

The narration then transitions to Beckett, who seems to be a mentor to Han Solo. What this new footage reveals is that Beckett works for Paul Bettany’s character, Dryden Vos — no relation to the Jedi Master Quinlan Vos, that we know of.

“Heard about a job. Big shot gangster, putting together a crew.”

Vos is a collector, and it appears that there’s a large Sith Holocron within his collection, so you never know!

We then switch gears to the voice of Han Solo himself.

“I’m a driver. And, I’m a flyer.”

“I’ve waited a long time for a shot like this.”

Could that statement be a double meaning, with Han Solo getting his shot to make it big time, and receiving the iconic DL 44 blaster that he shot (first)with A New Hope? To clarify, Han did not shot first, but he is the only one who shot. Poor Greedo did not have time even to get a blaster-shot off.

“What do you think?”

Chewie’s standard Wookie roar.

“What do you know?”

The banter between Han and Chewie reminds me of the original trilogy and The Force Awakens — with Ehrenreich and Suotamo picking up where Ford and Mayhew left off.

Solo: A Star Wars Story showcases the Millenium Falcon in all of its glory!

“You got a line on a ship?”

“Yeah, I know a guy, he’s the best smuggler around.”

Han Solo: “I heard a story about you, I was wondering if it was true?”

Lando: “Everything you heard about me… is true.”

“L3, let go of the mean man’s face.”

The multi-talented Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian is the perfect casting, with the “Childish Lanbino” as suave as ever.

“If you come with us, you’re in this life for good.”

We know that Han doesn’t stay in this life forever, but leaving a life of crime is never easy. The price on his head is so large when he tries leaving Jabba (224,190 credits worth to be exact), that he’s unable to enter any charted system in the galaxy.

“You might want to buckle up, baby.”

We know the Falcon has it where it counts!

“Let me give you some advice. Assume everyone will betray you. And, you will never be disappointed.”

“I’ve got a really good feeling about this.”

Ron Howard’s variation of “I have a bad feeling about this,” may flip the script, and if so, this is brilliant.

“Since when do you know how to fly?”

“190 years old? You look great!”

He looks great, indeed!

“I’d just as soon kiss a Wookiee.

It appears we will meet at least one member of Chewie’s family. Is it his wife, Mallatobuck or son Lumpawaroo? Likely this scene takes place within the cruel depths of the spice mines of Kessel.

Chewie will undoubtedly get his revenge and earn the nickname coined by Jabba the Hutt himself; the Might Chewbacca.” We were robbed of that moment in The Force Awakens when he ripped Unkar Plutt’s arm out of his socket, but hopefully, they make it up to us in Solo: A Star Wars Story!

Solo: A Star Wars Story is all about the Millennium Falcon, baby!

It belongs here among the clouds!

Beautiful!

“PUSH IT!”

“Chewie!”

We know Chewie will be fine, but still, this is intense!

Next: Solo wins the Falcon playing Sabacc, but what exactly is it?
