We finally got the trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer and we can’t stop watching it. Here are five big moments from the final trailer.
The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer hit us hard. It contained two minutes of footage from the final movie of the Skywalker Saga and hit us in our emotional center.
It had a little bit of everything, focusing heavily on the stars of the sequel trilogy with mostly the voices of the original stars in the trailer. With 2 minutes of Star Wars footage, there were several big moments.
We take a look at five big moments from The Rise of Skywalker trailer.
C-3PO’s last look
Even though C-3PO’s line came in the middle of the trailer, it hit hard. While tiny Babu Frik worked on the gold droid, Poe Dameron asked C-3PO what he was doing. The droid looked around the room and mentioned how he was taking a look at his friends for the last time.
That was the moment when the tears started. While it certainly felt as though C-3PO was saying goodbye to Star Wars and its fans, the droid also said everything we were feeling.
That’s going to be us when watching The Rise of Skywalker. We are going to take a look at all of our friends and say good bye to our friends. We don’t know if they will all make it out, but we do know it’s the last movie of the saga.
No matter what, it’s the end.
(Any one notice Zorii in that scene too?)

Death Star on Endor
When we first learned the Death Star was back, we wondered if it was the first or second. Given the scenes in the trailer, it’s safe to say it was the second Death Star and we’re headed back to Endor.
There, Rey finds Palpatine sitting on a spiky throne and the showdown between him and Rey takes place – we presume. While we don’t have details, it certainly feels that way.
There also seems to be a lot going on in and around the Death Star. Is that what Rey and Kylo are fighting on in the middle of the water? It certainly seems that way. If that’s the case, there is a lot of hatred on that moon. Didn’t it suffer enough already at the hands of the Empire?
It’s time to bring it all back around to where we thought it all ended last time. This truly is the end though.

Breaking Vader’s mask
In The Force Awakens, Darth Vader’s mask was a symbol for Kylo. At the time, it felt as though he used it as a way to fuel his hatred. It was his link to the dark side while he struggled with his emotions.
We didn’t get to see it in The Last Jedi, but we already knew it was coming back in Episode IX.
You may have missed it in the trailer. It was in for just a second, but it was such as remarkable scene that you should go back and watch it again.
Rey and Kylo Ren take their lightsabers and strike down the pedestal holding the charred Vader mask. While we have no idea the context behind this moment, it’s so incredibly powerful. The vision is important because it marks the end of Vader’s involvement in the Star Wars galaxy.
If they strike it down together as a team and not in an accident in the middle of skirmish, it lends credence that Ben Solo emerges over Kylo Ren.
While Vader’s helmet is gone, we’ll have to wait just how it happens.

The new characters
There are several new characters in Episode IX and we finally got a chance to see them in live-action – for just a quick moment.
Dominic Monaghan’s character appeared in the scene with Rose. It looks like he is standing next to Connix.
Zorii is with Rey, Poe, and C-3PO in a droid workshop. She was on the left side, but the biggest part of the scene was C-3PO so if you didn’t notice her on first glance, it’s OK.
The best was Jannah riding in on a horse, leading a charge against what I presume is the First Order. We’ll get to see more once the movie is here, but I’m excited for what Jannah has to offer.
Although I didn’t see General Hux or Allegiant General Pryde. The trailer was showing off a lot of the Resistance and it coming together and not much of the First Order other than Kylo.

October 21 was Carrie Fisher’s birthday — the same day the trailer came out. She would have been 63 on Monday.
Seeing her every so briefly in the trailer was tough especially after it came right after the moment with C-3PO, but even more so was how the trailer ended.
Rey stood seemingly in front of Palpatine with her blue lightsaber glowing, lighting up the side of her face. Luke Skywalker spoke over the scene “The Force is with you …”
“Always.”
Leia ended it with those words.
It was the perfect ending to the trailer. A reminder that no one is ever truly gone. They will remain with us especially when needed.
