Disney+ is going to be rolling out an Obi-Wan Kenobi series to add to their Star Wars offerings, and even though it’s still a ways off, here are five things we can look forward to.
Disney+ kicked off their Star Wars specific streaming service in tremendous fashion with The Mandalorian. While it may have divided opinions at first, by the end, fans were praising it while they simultaneously bashed The Rise of Skywalker. Disney wasted no time doubling up on its Star Wars streaming successes, announcing several new series, one detailing Cassian Andor pre-Rogue One and, more recently, a series focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi and his time on Tatooine.
With very few details, other than Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as young Obi-Wan Kenobi, there isn’t a lot to start getting hyped about, but for those wanting a little something extra, I’ve whipped up these five things we may get to see in the series, based on both the comic series and the saga.
This comes after the Jedi were eliminated following Order 66 and Obi-Wan was sent to Tatooine to keep tabs on young Luke Skywalker, who has been placed under the care of his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru.
As we learn in the original trilogy and from the graphic novel series, Obi-Wan starts to get a bit of a crazy person reputation, which should definitely make things interesting.
Beyond that though, the scope of the series is up to speculation, but there’s a lot to be excited about already, other than it just being more Star Wars content from the people that brought us The Mandalorian. Again, with nothing confirmed, we don’t know what route the series will take, but we know enough to start building a list of things we’d want to see. As a side note, it goes without saying that just seeing Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan again is a huge perk, but that wasn’t included on the list.
And so, let’s get into it, starting with No. 5.

5. Tusken Raiders
I still hold to my belief that Tusken Raiders are some of the coolest creatures in the Star Wars universe. Who else sits in the stands at a pod race and takes pot shots at the racers? And while they had always looked like a crazy, bloodthirsty people, seeing their women and children, who Anakin of course killed, added a new dimension.
Plus, we saw in A New Hope the Tusken Raiders had a certain reverence for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and I’m excited to explore how that happened and, better yet, if there is some sort of peaceful interaction with these warmongers.
Kenobi is known for his level-headedness, so it’s safe to say he won’t pull an Anakin and go on a rampage. I just want to see what it looks like when a human being has a conversation with a Tusken Raider.
On to No. 4.

4. Boba Fett
I feel like the first question everyone wants to know when Disney announced a new Star Wars project is “is Boba Fett going to be in it?” Maybe it’s because the Mandalorian brought back memories of that other ill-fated Mandalorian who apparently didn’t die in the Sarlacc Pit, but is still kicking around thanks to Dengar.
Anyway, before the Sarlacc Pit, he carried quite a reputation in the Star Wars universe. You might have missed it in the original trilogy, but in the clone wars, for instance, he was an eager little guy and in the graphic novels, he does plenty as well.
Most of his time is spent in and around Tatooine, as his employer happens to be Jabba the Hutt, and that being the case, it’s safe to assume that Fett would be in near proximity to Kenobi, especially if Kenobi ends up in some way interacting with Jabba, which is also a pretty safe assumption.
Meaning that yes, all you Fett fans out there, there’s a good chance we will see Boba Fett in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+, even if we never see him in the Mandalorian.
Moving on to No. 3.

3. Kid Luke!
When we first meet Luke Skywalker in A New Hope, he’s supposed to be pretty young, but old enough that he’s lost that childhood cuteness. At the time that this Obi-Wan series would be taking place, Luke would be about the same age as Anakin was in The Phantom Menace, or thereabouts.
I think young Anakin gets a bad rap. He did the job of showing us the innocent child that would become the most sinister villain in the galaxy, which involved mixing those childhood whimsies with the seeds to sprout darkness.
Seeing young Luke would have a similar effect, though obviously without the evil future ahead.
In the graphic novels, Luke flies Skyhoppers, frequently disobeys Uncle Owen, and tries to run away numerous times. Also known as being a kid, not just on Tatooine, but anywhere in the galaxy (with slight modifications, obviously).
I want to see rebellious young Luke, and the seeds that would sprout the hero of the Rebellion. I want to see him disobeying and being a kid. That just sounds like too much fun to miss.
Onwards to No. 2

2. Qui-Gon Jinn
The Rise Of Skywalker isn’t the only Star Wars movie to open up new concepts and then never finish them (for example, Lando Calrissian’s daughter). It also happened in Revenge of the Sith, when Yoda and Obi-Wan are discussing their places of exile.
Yoda tells Obi-Wan that his old master has discovered the path to immortality and can thus be communed with on Tatooine, where Obi-Wan will be continuing his training.
This is, of course, in reference to Qui Gonn Jinn, the man who’s pretty much at fault for the destruction of the Jedi order, since he decided to train Anakin (maybe I’m being dramatic).
Whatever the case, Qui Gonn was an excellent character and a stellar Jedi and I, for one, loved Liam Neeson’s portrayal of him. I wonder if there are any plans to reprise the role with Neeson, but whatever the plan, it’s hard to avoid the inevitability of Qui Gonn being heavily involved, since Yoda made it clear that this would be a big part of Obi-Wan’s training.
So we have that to look forward to. Even more so, though, is No. 1.
1. Black Krrsantan
I’ve been on a Black Krrsantan kick lately. Not sure why. But kick or not, seeing Black Krrsantan on the screen will be a long-awaited debut.
The dark and deadly Wookie is widely regarded as one of the most fearsome bounty hunters in the galaxy and he’s in Jabba’s employ. That alone would lead to the potential of an appearance, same as Boba Fett, but beyond that, if then show follows the route of the graphic novel depiction of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s journal (the one found by Luke Skywalker), then Black Krrsantan really can’t be ignored, because he gets in a pretty amazing fight with the Jedi Master. It’s all over the fate of Uncle Owen and for the most part, Black Krrsantan wins the fight, but for Obi-Wan’s ingenuity.
There are tons of iconic battles in the Star Wars universe, even before fancy graphics were a thing, but this fight popped off the page, so with the right choreography, it would be hard to top on the screen.
Black Krrsantan remains one of the few elite bounty hunters never to have made an appearance in any Star Wars show or movie, and that being the case, it’s time.
