There’s a Star Wars Obi-Wan series coming and we’re super excited to see what happened to the famed Jedi between Episode III and IV.
He’s the Jedi with some of the best quips in Star Wars history, but Obi-Wan is more than any honor thrown his way. He’s receiving his own Disney+ series and we’re excited to see where his adventures lead him years post-Revenge of the Sith in his own Obi-Wan Series
He’s the former mentor-BFF-turned foe to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. In his youth he was also the lover of Duchess Satine Kryze, so what happened to Obi-Wan Kenobi after he handed an infant Luke Skywalker to his uncle and aunt on Tatooine?
Did he sit back and ponder his mistakes for twenty years? Was he called back into action before returning to being the hermit that rescued his former best friend’s son from trouble? An Obi-Wan series will show us!

The currently untitled Obi-Wan series is going to answer exactly what happened between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, but it won’t pick up after RotS where we thought. According to The Radio Times, the series begins eight years after Kenobi defeats Anakin on Mustafar. Also, it should be noted that Solo: A Star Wars Story takes place around this same time. While this isn’t really relevant to the upcoming show, it’s awesome to see that were other events going on at the same time.
We’re going to dive into six points that we want to see happen during the course of the series.

1. Clone Wars Flashbacks
To have an Obi-Wan series, you need to at least mention the Clone Wars period and Kenobi’s time as a Jedi. While we don’t know what the story will be, we’d like to see moments from the ex-Jedi’s past as a Jedi, including his time during the Clone Wars.
There’s so many plot points they could cover. Obi-Wan had a load of non-Force Sensitive enemies before and during the war. Perhaps, one of them learns he’s hiding out on Tatooine and decides to hunt him. If there are flashbacks, we could see Anakin and perhaps live-action versions of Ahsoka and Satine.
Perhaps there’s even references to Luke and Leia’s births as it’s been rumored the Skywalker twins will appear as kids as a casting call has been issued.
If there are flashbacks, we’d prefer if they used them sparingly because too many would just be recapping his past rather than propel his story forward. It would be nice if some of his past failures during this time in his life was address to some degree. By talking about these moments from his past, it may put his mind at ease and give him a new perspective on everything that happened.

2. Obi-Wan Sorts Through His Feelings
Obi-Wan’s early life as a Padawan to Qui-Gon and his death as well as his time fighting in the Clone Wars took a toll on him. One of the biggest gut punches he received was losing Anakin. Since the Obi-Wan series will take place eight years after this event, it would be awesome to see the famed Jedi Master sort out his feelings.
From what Ewan McGregor has said that Obi-Wan may have PTSD due to everything that happened in his life. So, there’s a possibility that we could see him struggle with what happened to Anakin and how he didn’t see what the Emperor was doing.
If it is true that Anakin is appearing in the series, flashbacks would be where he appears. Or if they can’t get Hayden Christensen back, they might use archival footage from Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Another possibility is they could use unused footage like they did with The Rise of Skywalker to include Leia in the story.
Obi-Wan will also still be feeling the effects of what happened with Satine when Maul murdered her in front of him. If anything, Obi-Wan will probably feel the same way about not everything that happened with Ahsoka and her trial and expulsion. He may feel guilty about so many other things too and may realize that it’s too late to change the past.

3. An Appearance (Or Cameo) From Luke And/Or Leia
Since the Obi-Wan series will be set after Revenge of the Sith, you cannot have a show without some reference to the Skywalker twins. We mentioned before that a casting call has allegedly been put out for a blond haired boy and a brunette girl. We know Luke inherited his father’s blonde from when he was a child while Leia was always a brunette like her mother.
So, how would the twins fit into the narrative of the main show? Well, there’s a few ways this could do this. The first way would include a cameo or communication with Bail Organa, Leia’s adoptive father. We know Obi-Wan is keeping tabs on Luke by living on Tatooine. Organa adopted Leia at birth and is raising her to be the Princess of Alderaan.
The second way they pull off a Luke or Leia appearance is holograms. Perhaps Beru and Organa send Obi-Wan updates on their respective twin. It might be a little easier for Obi-Wan to see Luke as he lives close to the Lars homestead, but Leia would be different given her adoptive father’s role in the growing Rebel Alliance.
Also, the twins can’t interact until A New Hope and as far as we know, Luke doesn’t leave Tatooine until then. However, we’re not sure whether Leia ever goes to Tatooine at any point during her childhood.

4. Obi-Wan And Owen Argue Over Luke
Obi-Wan might’ve been Anakin’s best friend, but Owen Lars was the Jedi-turned-Sith Lord’s step-brother and guardian to his famous step-sibling’s son. We know Obi-Wan placed Luke with Owen and Beru and watched over him, however there’s more to the story than what we saw onscreen.
In a comic series, Owen forbids Obi-Wan to go near his nephew, fearing that his step-brother’s former mentor would get the boy killed. We know Kenobi thought the world of Anakin and to lose him was more than heartbreaking for him. It destroyed him internally and he felt that if he watched and protected Luke, he could prevent a cycle from occurring.
When the Obi-Wan series was originally going to be a movie, Joel Edgerton who played Owen in the prequels said he would be more than happy to come back. However, it’s unclear if he’ll return to a series. It might just be a one-off special appearance for an episode that revolves around Luke, for example.
Though, if this does happen, we can guess that the two men will argue over Luke’s safety and like the comic, Owen will explode saying the Jedi has killed enough Skywalkers. If Owen’s words in A New Hope were any indication, he has no love for Obi-Wan. It’s also unclear if he ever learned what actually happened to Anakin. If he did, this might come up in an argument between them.

5. Slicing Off A Few Arms And Maybe A Few Other Limbs Too
In the original trilogy, Obi-Wan was known for one thing: slicing off some poor creature’s arm. He later did this to General Grievous and to Anakin when he cut off not just his remaining organic arm, but his legs too.
We wish we knew more about this Obi-Wan series and whether he’ll use his lightsaber. Given the timeframe of when the show is meant to take place, he might have given up using his lightsaber after everything that has happened.
It would really be a highlight to see Obi-Wan slice off at least one poor sap’s arm. It would show him as a guy who should not be messed with. It might make bounty hunters and other scum think twice before entangling with him in any way. It would be fun to watch for one and it would be awesome if someone underestimated him so he could show that a few missing limbs is what happens when you cross an ex-Jedi.
Maybe Obi-Wan comes into contact with someone who found the remains of Grievous on Utapau and decided it would be fun to mess with him. Perhaps news of Obi-Wan’s reputation for chopping off arms and legs will have spread to every corner of Tatooine. It would make sense if criminals want to debunk the rumour but end up with a missing arm or leg.

6. Troll Some Enemies
If there’s one thing Obi-Wan was notorious for in his younger years it was his humor. Remember all those times during the Clone Wars when he was constantly taking light-hearted jabs at Anakin for always getting caught? Or those times he made fun of Grievous? Well, we’d love Obi-Wan to continue this trend in his Obi-Wan series.
Fans have already dubbed him the Master of Trolling, so why not include it as a plot point in the show? It would be a treat for the fans of the Clone Wars to see stuff like Obi-Wan’s trolling ability blend into mainstream media. It would make it seem like the Clone Wars and the films blend together seamlessly rather than feel like two separate franchise times within Star Wars.
It would a total treat to see the reactions on the faces of Obi-Wan’s enemies of him giving them cheek before their limbs go flying across a cantina and landing on some poor sap’s lap. No matter what happens with the series, we hope there will be plenty of laughs to be had as well as some tearjerking ones.
