As fans patiently await the return of live-action Star Wars series, bits of information about the upcoming projects have been revealed, making us all the more excited for this next year in a galaxy far, far away. This year, we got season 1 of the fun Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and more recently, the awesome series Star Wars: Visions premiered on Disney Plus. But of course, the big, big stuff is still on the horizon.

This big stuff I’m speaking of, of course, includes The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian season 3, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series which will see not only Ewan McGregor but also Hayden Christensen reprise their Star Wars roles, and the Andor series, the latter of which serving as a prequel to Rogue One. We don’t have release dates for all of these shows, but fortunately we did just get confirmation that one has completed filming.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Diego Luna, the actor who will be reprising his role as the titular character in Andor, said shooting is finished and he even teased what he could about it.

Although he kept it very short, Luna did reveal that we can expect to see other popular Star Wars characters in Andor. “You’ll definitely see familiar faces,” Luna said. “I can tell you about this project like no other because I can’t spoil the ending if you’ve seen [Stars Wars: Rogue One] already. No matter what I say, I can’t ruin the ending.”

We previously speculated a few characters who could very well appear in Andor, such as Ahsoka Tano, who we also saw in The Mandalorian season 2 late last year, and Hera Syndulla, who we more recently saw in The Bad Batch. Of course, Luna did not reveal which familiar faces we’ll be seeing, but now it’s all we can think about!

The Star Wars shows on Disney Plus have done a wonderful job incorporating fan-favorite characters from other series, even if it is for a brief cameo. The Mandalorian season 2 absolutely stunned fans with a surprise Luke Skywalker appearance, which was enough to make any Star Wars fan emotional!

As of right now, we don’t have a release date for Andor, but it’s expected to debut sometime in 2022. When we get more information about the series, we’ll be sure to update you right here on Dork Side of the Force.
