With each new Star Wars project comes waves of differing opinions and speculations about its outcome. With a weekly Disney+ show such as The Book of Boba Fett, it’s even harder to judge whether or not the pieces of a story are coming together in an optimal way. However, star Ming-Na Wen assures viewers it’s all going to pay off in the end.

Wen told RadioTimes.com: “I really hope that [fans] want to go back and see the whole thing [The Book of Boba Fett] over again in a different light after, you know, knowing how… things have evolved, and all these other elements that have come into play.”

The show received its harshest criticisms yet from fans after Chapter 3, “The Streets of Mos Espa.” One common critique surrounded the massacre of the Dune Sea Tusken Raiders, whom Boba discovered in a flashback just before his unfortunate confrontation with Black Krrsantan.

It’s unclear which elements of the story Wen may have been referring to when she promised the wait would be worth it. But she did give Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni credit for their habit of playing the long game when it comes to Star Wars television, and The Book of Boba Fett will likely not be an exception to their rules.

“[Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni] are so knowledgeable about this world, about Star Wars,” the actor continued, “and they’re such huge fans that they know how to set up the pieces and make moves that you don’t even know are coming.”

People thought the “space whales” in Star Wars: Rebels were foolish filler until the series finale and were proven drastically wrong. When it comes to storytelling, these creatives like to make audiences wait for the payoff. So maybe be careful how harshly you judge Boba Fett’s adventures before next month’s finale.

The Book of Boba Fett is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
