While the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga game won’t be released until April, that doesn’t mean little interesting tidbits haven’t been released. One of which comes from Neil Crofts the Head of Character Art on Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

As we all know, every aspect of LEGO games take LEGO forms. Meaning characters look like minifigures, sometimes they mumble instead of speak actual words, you get the idea.

The problem developer Traveller’s Tales had was that, as revealed during IGN Fan Fest 2022, “they had to create LEGO forms of some creatures that have never been made by LEGO as physical kits.”

Croft explains, “What we would do is we’d look at the film reference, and we’d take existing Lego creatures and characters that are similar, and then what we end up with is something that is as accurate as we could make it.”

What issue did developer Traveller Tales have when working on Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

The IGN article explains how the Rathtar (from the planet Twon Ketee) as seen in The Force Awakens was based on the Lego GyroSphere from the Lego Jurassic World kit, Lego dragon kit’s tail and tusks, and even more pieces! Does this mean that LEGO will now create new sets based on Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

Does this mean LEGO will look into more creature kits and sets to prevent this from happening again? If so, we could be seeing a lot more Star Wars creatures, even the more obscure ones, become available for the fans who love them!

Which Star Wars creatures do you want to see in future LEGO sets? For me personally, I’m hoping for an actual LEGO Vulptex from The Last Jedi.
