Mark Hamill may have had complicated feelings about his The Last Jedi character in the past, but he may look at the experience a little differently now.

In responding to a tweet from a fan asking multiple questions about the film and the actor’s experience on it, Hamill took a “quick and simple” approach to his reply.

He was asked whether or not he had memories from filming, whether or not his mind has changed over the past five years, and whether or not he wished he’d done anything differently regarding the role. He responded:

“Not really. A little. Yes. You’re welcome.”

Hamill probably gets hundreds of questions like these, so his responses were likely the same he’d given to similar questions many times before.

When The Last Jedi first released, the actor didn’t have all nice things to say about what had been done with his character — which is why his responses above are quite encouraging.

“I had to do what Rian [Johnson] wanted me to do because it serves the story well,” he told IndieWire after the film released. “Listen, I still haven’t accepted it completely, but, it’s only a movie. I hope people like it. I hope they don’t get upset. I came to really believe that Rian was the exact man they needed for this job.”

Clearly he’s come around to that “version” of his character — he has since returned to the role three times, and who knows if there will be more? His tweet seems to have suggested that maybe he didn’t give the Sequel Trilogy Luke a chance at first, but he’s had time to let it grow on him.

Perhaps we’ll see him again in The Mandalorian — though the way his time on The Book of Boba Fett wrapped up, it’s unclear whether or not we’ll see him again at this point in the timeline.

The Ahsoka series, however, may be a different story … one that might feature Luke, which Hamill could have a part in bringing to life once more.
