BREAKING: The Force Awakens Coming to Blu-Ray/DVD in April

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters a little over a month ago in December of 2015, and quickly became one of the most successful box-office films of all time…

Now, thanks to what we are assuming is a happy accident from Amazon, we know when the film will be coming to Blu-Ray/DVD. Amazon’s main website is now showing the Blu-Ray version of The Force Awakens will be available on April 5th, 2016. That means, that in just a mere two-short months, we will be able to own Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, in our homes. Hit it, Sand People!

For now, it doesn’t appear as if Amazon has listed the release date for the digital download of The Force Awakens. The digital download release is usually a few weeks ahead of the hard copy (Blu-Ray/DVD)…as for now, both versions of The Force Awakens are available to pre-order. Just in case Amazon does decide to remove the link, because you know…this may be an accidental leak; here’s a screenshot of the page:

As you can see, there are two versions in both the Blu-Ray and the DVD releases of the film. For $19.99 you get bonus features, but for $5 less, you get just the theatrical release. Interesting that, as J.J. Abrams has made it clear that there will be no extended cut of the film released. However, he has said that there are about 15-30 minutes of cut and deleted scenes that may make their way into the Blue-Ray/DVD release.

Sound off: Are you excited to see an April release for Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-Ray/DVD? And, do you plan on pre-ordering the film, or holding off until you see if there will be a collector’s edition/metal cover? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
