Thanks to a tip from the always reliable jedi-bibliothek, we have the final five episode titles from Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, and they hint at a possible dark ending for a fan favorite…

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 has undoubtedly been better than season 1. The story-telling and continuity, combined with the return of The Clone Wars fan-favorites Ahsoka and Rex, as well as the old space pirate Hondo Ohnaka, has made Season 2 quality television for children and adult Star Wars fans, alike.

When the second half of Season 2 aired its trailer, fans received a bit of a shock, as Darth Maul made an appearance in the form of Old Master, and Darth Vader finally locked lightsabers with his former apprentice, Ahsoka.

Now that we’ve seen how powerful this second half of Season 2 will be, jedi-bibliothek has come across the titles for the final five episodes and boy are they a doozy!

  • 2 × 18 “Shroud of Darkness” – USA: March 2, 2016

This looks to be the episode where Ezra, Kanan, and Ahsoka go to the Sith-like planet where they find the holocron. I believe that planet to be Malachor V or a version of it.

  • 2 × 19 “The Forgotten Droid” – USA: March 16, 2016

Will this be an R2-D2 episode? He always comes into play, somehow.

  • 2 × 20 “The Mystery of Chopper Base” – USA: March 23, 2016

Chopper always gets into some kind of mischievous trouble.

  • 2 × 21 “Twilight of the Apprentice: Part I” – USA: March 30, 2016

Here’s where it gets interesting…try and follow: We know Darth Maul is in the second half as Old Master. Darth Maul was apprenticed to Palpatine at one time. Vader is currently apprenticed to Palpatine. Ezra is apprenticed to Kanan. Kanan is sort of apprenticed to Ahsoka. Ahsoka was formally apprenticed to Anakin Skywalker who is now Darth Vader.

  • 2 × 22 “Twilight of the Apprentice: Part II” – USA: March 30, 2016

This episode is to be an hour long, and it is rumored that one or more of our heroes will meet their end. But who will it be? Twilight certainly hints at an “ending” to something. Could Darth Maul finally be put down by Vader? Will Palpatine come into play and finish the job he started all those years ago on Mandalore?

Or, will Vader sever the final tether to his former life as Anakin Skywalker, and kill Ahsoka? If that happens, I fear something terrible will happen. like a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices will suddenly cry out in terror, and then will be suddenly silenced. It won’t be pretty.
