Katee Sackhoff joins Star Wars Rebels Season 3 as the voice of Bo-Katan

This weekend, during the Oz Comic-Con, in Sydney, Australia, Battlestar Galactica/Longmire actress Katee Sackhoff, confirmed that she would be reprising the role of Bo-Katan Kryze — from Star Wars: The Clone Wars — for Star Wars Rebels Season 3.

According to website Jedi News Uk, while speaking at Oz Comic-Con at the Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island, Sackhoff revealed that she had already voiced the character of Bo-Katan for Star Wars Rebels Season 3.

For those of you unfamiliar with the character of Bo-Katan, here’s a brief primer:

Bo-Katan Kryze is from the planet Mandalore and she served a group called Death Watch, during the Clone Wars. Her sister, Duchess Satine Kryze, was killed by Darth Maul when the Sith Lord took over the planet of Mandalore with his Shadow Collective.

Once Maul killed Katan’s sister, she and her followers, the Nite Owls, split from the Shadow Collective, and eventually helped Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi escape the occupied and embattled planet. Kenobi and Duchess Satine were romantically linked, though the Jedi Knight never really acted on those feelings.

Bo-Katan once followed the leader of Death Watch, Pre Vizsla, before he was executed by Darth Maul. Vizsla wielded the infamous Darksaber, which was stolen from the Jedi during the fall of the Old Republic.

The connection between Bo-Katan and Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels is that Sabine is also a Mandalorian warrior from Clan Wren of House Vizsla. Perhaps Bo-Katan being in Star Wars Rebels Season 3, is to give Sabine the Darksaber, which once belonged to her ancestor, Pre Vizsla. We do know that at some point in Season 3, Sabine will wield the Darksaber.
