Most educated Star Wars fans are aware that Mark Hamill has never stopped working since his last turn as Luke Skywalker in 1983’s Return of the Jedi. In fact, the veteran stage and screen actor has kept very busy over the last two decades.

While it’s true that Mark Hamill’s face is most often recognized as the lightsaber wielding hero from the Star Wars films, it’s more likely that his work in voice acting overshadows his onscreen persona. Hamill has lent his vocal talents to hundreds of television animation and video games over the years, most notably as the villainous Joker for several Batman related projects.

Most recently, Mark Hamill appeared in a cameo role for Matthew Vaughn’s 2014 film Kingsman: The Secret Service. While out doing press for the new action flick, Hamill spoke with Gina McIntyre of the L.A. Times’ Hero Complex.

During the interview, Hamill discusses his feelings on reprising the role that brought him worldwide fame in 1977’s Star Wars.

From the Hero Complex interview:

"“… What’s been fun about what’s been happening recently is how unexpected all of this is. I thought even if they make another trilogy they’re not going to use Luke and Leia and Han, it will be about the new generation. I’m still stunned. I did it and I still can’t believe it happened.”"

In response to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and those who have been overly eager to dig up information on the new film, Hamill was quick to encourage fans to remain calm.

"“… I wish people would just relax. We’re not trying to play games with people. We just want to maximize their experience at the movies where it should be seen and not have it leaked over the Internet. Believe me, it will be here before you know it. Forget about it, that’s my advice. Look forward to all the summer movies. I’m telling you, it’s just a movie. These people that build it up in their minds like it’s going to be the second coming of, I don’t know what — they’re bound to be disappointed.”"
