Marvel’s “Star Wars” Issue #3 – First Look
By Eric Crisp
If you can’t wait for Marvel Star Wars Issue 3, Star Wars cares and is giving you a sneak peek.
The first two issues of this comic have been absolutely fantastic. The story has been compelling and the action has been superb. This glimpse of issue 3 shows us that the action is not going to let up. You can see the full pages on the Star Wars site but here are a few panels to whet you appetite.
Issue 2 ended as Han and Leia have commandeered an AT-AT Walker and are busting their way out of a tight spot in an Imperial factory. This monstrosity is stomping its way through Stormtroopers and leading the way for Luke and some Imperial slaves’ escape. The panels, by John Cassaday, featuring the AT-AT in issue 2 were stunning and it looks like there is more to come.
Luke has been the driving character of the story so far and Jason Aaron is doing a great job showing us what is happening with Luke right after the victory over the Death Star at Yavin 4. Action sequences in comics can often feel forced but these panels featuring Luke have kept moving and have felt so right. I can’t wait to see what this issue has to offer.

We got to see what kind of Force power Darth Vader wields in issue 2 as we saw Vader versus AT-AT. Vader lost that round but it looks like this issue will have round 2. I have a feeling things won’t go as well for the Walker this time.
I’ve said it before but if you haven’t started reading this comic, you are truly missing some great Star Wars material. It will be worth your time and money to pick up these books and enjoy the swashbuckling good time.
