Star Wars Celebration Anaheim is setting up to rock the entire galaxy as Disney puts together the key pieces of its plan for the franchise. We already know we’ll be treated to the new The Force Awakens trailer and the two-part premiere of Star Wars Rebels season two.

We also know that we’re getting a reveal trailer for the new Star Wars: Battlefront game, and now EA has officially announced the exact date, time and panel that it will be unveiled.
The trailer will be shown at an EA panel on April 17 at 10:30 a.m. Pacific time. Not only that, but those attending the convention will also be able to see gameplay from the game behind closed doors. They mention fans can also participate in “a few other activities” but don’t go into more detail.
EA says the trailer will be released shortly afterward to the world, although it’s unclear when and through what channels.
We know next to nothing about this game, which is only adding to the anticipation. It’s being developed by DICE, which makes the Battlefield series of games, and it’s scheduled to launch on PC, XBox One, and PS4 later this year.
There are a few teaser trailers that have popped up at E3. The one directly below is from 2013, and there’s another one at the end of this post from 2014 that goes into the making of the game.
Other than that, the only recent detail we’ve uncovered is where the game fits in terms of official canon. A couple
of savvy Star Wars fans actually found an official timeline inserted into upcoming books that were available for online previews.
The infographic has an entry for “Battlefront” right underneath A New Hope. It seems pretty certain that that refers to the upcoming game and not an accompanying novel or comic book. Some have speculated this means that the game simply starts during the events of Episode IV, but we’ll have to wait and see.
