Will there be Hutts in Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

Every day, I traipse over to our friends at Making Star Wars, just to see what new and exciting rumor they have unearthed, regarding Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Today I was pleasantly surprised to see an article pertaining to the extremely under-mentioned, yet quite literally larger than life character of the Hutts.

The piece from MSW, is about a character on the set of The Force Awakens known as “Fat Cat” and no one really knows who he or she or it, is. They do have one clue, however.

"“There was a production sketch done very very early on which showed Princess Leia standing in the middle of several Hutts. She was wearing a maroon dress (political style) and was flanked by two soldiers (they looked to me like the Naboo guards from Phantom Menace but to others they looked like the rebel soldiers from the beginning of A New Hope.)”"

The piece goes on to talk about how MSW’s source being collaborated by a piece done by the Latino Review, who usually stands around 50/50 when it comes to getting rumors right, about highly-secretive upcoming movies.

"“There are Hutts in The Force Awakens, we know because those Hutts have been practically built.”"

So there you have it, both Making Star Wars and Latino Review have sources that confirm the inclusion of Hutts in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This doesn’t explain who or what “Fat Cat” is, but it most certainly provides a very strong clue.

Whether or not either of them are right (They probably are because I trust MSW), remains to be seen. We may find out as soon as next week, when the next trailer for The Force Awakens, will be shown at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, on April 16th through the 19th.
