Star Wars: The Force Awakens Character List

The good folks over at Making Star Wars have compiled what they are calling the complete Star Wars: the Force Awakens character list. MSW is usually accurate, and I find that more often than not, they nail the rumors and news right on the head.

Let’s take a look at who, thanks to MSW, we know will appear in TFA. Be wary for spoilers. The first few are old-school originals, and should come as no surprise that their names appear.

  • Han Solo
  • (Queen) Leia
  • Luke Skywalker
  • Chewbacca
  • C-3PO
  • R2-D2

Next we have the new young-guns. The list includes Rey, although her name has been changed from Kira, it would seem. Poe Dameron is portrayed by Oscar Isaac, and we saw him the first trailer for TFA, piloting an X-Wing.

  • Rey (Kira)
  • Finn
  • Kylo Ren
  • Poe Dameron
  • Rose

The next group of names includes Andy Serkis’ character, mysteriously named Uber. His voice was the narrator from the first, and only so far, trailer. With some of these names, I have no clue who or what they are, but Captain Phasma will be portrayed by Game of Thrones star, Gwendoline Christie.

  • The General (Gleeson)
  • Uber (Serkis)
  • BB-8
  • The Vicar
  • Captain Phasma
  • Gorwyn (Rebel Pilot)
  • Lieutenant Mitaka
  • Ruddo
  • Statura
  • Captain Trilla
  • Dr. Kalonia

There’s also confirmation of flashbacks! With young Luke Skywalker listed here, I’d say it’s a safe bet that we’ll see him searching for other Jedi, after the events of Episode VI.

  • Naka (Flashback)
  • Local Trader (Flashback)
  • Young Luke Skywalker (Flashback)
  • Fat Cat (Flashback)

The rest of the list is compiled of generic stormtroopers and various members of the Imperial army, along with bar patrons and traders. It’s also important to remember that J.J. Abrams has given many of the characters coded names, so that their true identity could not be spoiled or leaked, before the movie premieres in December of this year. You can see the list in its entirety, at Making Star Wars.
