This week has been loads of fun, what with a little thing called the Star Wars Celebration happening and all. Dork Side of the Force‘s very own Kyle, has been in Anaheim, boots on the ground, reporting back with tons of cool pictures, live-tweeting Panels, and recapping some of the most interesting news coming out of the Celebration.
But we weren’t the only site from Fansided, reporting on the Star Wars Celebration. Our FanSided family took the bantha by the horns, and created some fantastic Star Wars articles, relating to the Celebration. Here’s a roundup, from the FanSided Network.
Our first piece comes from the comic book savants at Bam! Smack! Pow! where they wrote a piece called Star Wars Joins Marvel Unlimited With First Month Free. Here’s an excerpt: “Marvel Unlimited has caught the spirit of a galaxy far, far away. It comes courtesy of a heaping helping of Star Wars comics, over 500 of which are now available for your reading pleasure through Marvel’s digital comics subscription service. To celebrate the occasion, both new and returning Marvel Unlimited subscribers can get their first month absolutely free. Fittingly, all you need to do is enter the code “STAR WARS” when you hit the Marvel Unlimited checkout page and you are good to go.”
Next we’ve got Gamesided(Our resident viseo game experts), with a piece titled – New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer May Hint At Battlefront. Here’s an excerpt: “Not only can all these vehicles, characters and settings be possibly included in the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game, but at the end of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer you can see a 10-second clip of Endor footage being teased in an annotation.”
Our next offering comes from the Fansided mothership, where author Josh Hill wrote an article called: Star Wars Episode 7 Trailer Revealed: 5 things we learned (Video). Here’s an excerpt: “It appears that the series will sort of go back to where were when the whole franchise started, as Star Wars Episode 7 has been rumored to be mimicking the story structure of A New Hope.”
Josh wasn’t done, however, as he wrote a thought provoking piece titled: Is this Boba Fett in Star Wars Episode 7 trailer? (Photo). Here’s an excerpt: “Of course, this looks like it is the character Captain Phasma, but what a reveal it would be if this ended up being a version of Boba Fett? After all, there are crazier fan theories out there, and none of them are as cool as twisting Boba Fett in there.”
Next we have Winter is Coming with a question about the possibility of Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie being Captain Phasma, titled: Gwendoline Christie spotted (maybe) in new Star Wars trailer. Here’s an excerpt: “Word around the digital rumor mill is that Christie will be playing Captain Phasma, a high-ranking “chrome stormtrooper” and the commanding officer to Finn (John Boyega), one of the movie’s lead characters. The mystery stormtrooper around the 1:20 mark hits all of those marks.”
Flicksided has some set photos from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens from the Celebration. The piece is titled: Star Wars Celebration: Exclusive The Force Awakens Set Photos. Here’s an excerpt: “The images focus mostly on the three heroes from the film: Oscar Isaac who will be playing Poe Dameron, Daisy Ridley who is Rey, and John Boyega who is Finn.”
Lightly Buzzed posted an article dedicated to some pretty darn cool and elaborate Force Awakens trailer #2 GIFs. “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” Trailer GIF Breakdown. Here’s an excerpt: “It’s the new “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” trailer all GIF’d up for easy internet consumption. What’s better than a brand new “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” trailer? That trailer in GIFS of course!”
Finally, rounding out our fellow sites at the FanSided Network’s coverage of Star Wars, is the FanSided New England Patriots site called Musket Fire. Their piece is titled: Julian Edelman Posts Star Wars Trailer Featuring The Patriots. “Here’s an excerpt: Upon seeing this trailer, Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (or someone close to Julian I assume) made a modified version of the trailer called, ‘Star Pats’.”
So there you have it folks, not just Dork Side of the Force covered Star Wars happenings, this week.
