5. BB-8’s Entrance Stuns the World
It’s one thing to say you’re going to focus on practical effects. It’s another to actually prove it in front of millions of fans, and that’s exactly what Abrams and crew did when they brought out a working, real-life version of BB-8, the droid that’s already captured fans’ hearts.
There’s actually a pretty interesting story behind how this little wonder was actually created, which involves Disney CEO Bob Iger recruiting a company to design a functioning spherical machine.
Nonetheless, the droid’s introduction served to convince fans that maybe, just maybe, Abrams and his team have really captured that magic of the original trilogy once again.
