The Fansided Network Star Wars Roundup Week 2!

Once again, the excellent writers and staff at the various Fansided Network Entertainment websites have written some fantastic articles about our most favorite and hallowed topic, which of course is Star Wars.

Our family of networks at Fansided, like Flicksided, Bam Smack Pow, Doctor Who Watch, and Gamesided, all created some thought-provoking and original pieces that even the most stalwart of Star Wars fans can and will enjoy. So, let’s get started, shall we?

First up, we’ve got Flicksided with “Star Wars The Force Awakens Rumors VI“: “There is a scene in the film that takes place in the ‘Evil Castle’ that we have heard they were filming out. We do not know what this location will be called, or where it is located. Here is the description of the scene in bullet points”

Flicksided does a great job here with some of the more interesting rumors floating around the asteroid field of the internet. The Evil Castle in question could be the lair of the Force Ghost of Darth Plagueis, or a brand new big-bad. Either way, the general feel is that Luke Skywalker is guarding this castle, in hopes of stopping Kylo Ren from obtaining the powerful Sith relics hidden within.

Next up the amazing staff at Bam Smack Pow have a wonderful review of the comic Star Wars #4: “This is the story that Aaron is beginning to tell in the pages of Star Wars #4. In what may be the best issue of the series yet, Luke makes a fateful decision that marks the beginning of his hero’s journey from farmboy to Jedi. It’s an untapped area of the character’s history that I am very excited to read and discover.”

I cannot emphasize this enough, if you are into comic books, regardless of whether or not they have to do with Star Wars, the gang at Bam Smack Pow has the skinny on it all. Follow them, subscribe to their newsletter, and never miss a comic book news, rumor, or review, again!

Coming in from the site that you wouldn’t think you’d get some cool Star Wars news from, Doctor Who Watch has a really neat story about an amalgamation of R2-D2 and a Dalek, with their “The Doctor Who Morning Cuppa – 4/23 Edition“:

The brainchild of Sideshow Collectibles, the #R2ME2 project encouraged friends of the site and Star Wars fans to give the droid a brand new look. They were each given a blank prototype of the “Deluxe R2-D2 Sixth Scale Figure” and given free reign to customise[sic] it.”

Let’s see here, the most lovable astromech droid in the galaxy (sorry Chopper and BB-8…wait its BB-8 an astromech?), combined with a Dalek, arguable the most evil beings in the Doctor Who universe, is something that I may never want to see. No, seriously…I refuse to hear Artoo say “Exterminate. Exterminate.” Oh well, allons-y! (Doctor Who humor)…I’m sorry, I’m so very sorry, I never meant to give you nightmare fuel.

Finally we’ve got our fellow gamers over at Gamesided, with a roundtable discussion of all their favorite Star Wars games…ever. “Our Favorite Star Wars Games | GameSided Roundtable“:

“I’ve played the majority of Star Wars games. There have been some good ones, there have been some truly terrible ones. But the most spectacular one is one of the best games of all time, and that is Knights of The Old Republic.”

There is a lot of love, in this article, for KotOR, and that’s just fine by me, as they are all my favorites, even the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. But Gamesided doesn’t stop there, as they have many more games that they enjoy and love, from the Star Wars universe. Give it a read, it’s well worth it!

That’s it for this week folks! The Fansided Network’s Star Wars Roundup is quickly becoming a fun and unique way to share our family brand across different fan-bases and genres. I hope you enjoy reading them, as much as we did!
