6. Lando Calrissian

(Write-up by David Harris (Razor), Dork Side of the Force Editor in Chief)

I remember watching the Original Trilogy, as a kid, and thinking that there was no one cooler than Han Solo…and then Lando Calrissian graced the screen with his cool demeanor and a swagger that Han could only wish for, and I immediately had to rethink what cool Star Wars characters actually meant.

Even when Lando betrayed Han, Luke and Leia to Darth Vader, I didn’t even get mad at him. What else can you say about a character who was considered to be a scoundrel, gambler, and a pirate, but reversed his fortunes to control an entire city…in the clouds?

I can’t claim to know why Lando isn’t in the upcoming Force Awakens, but that has been my one gripe from day one, that there would be no Lando dropping cool lines with Han and Chewie.  Hopefully, whomever is directing Episode VIII will see the error in this oversight, and rectify it immediately. I mean, there’s got to be a reason the Millennium Falcon was abandoned, right? We all know Lando never gave it back to Han after the Battle for Endor, so what is the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy just sitting on Jakku, seemingly abandoned? Bring back Lando, bring him back!
