Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 coming to mobile platforms

The sequel to one of the most amazingly rich Star Wars video games ever created, Knights of the Old Republic (my opinion of course), has finally been rated by the ESRB for mobile platforms. The original was released on Android back in Decemeber of 2014, and started out at $5 for a limited time, before topping out at $9, which is where it currently sits.

We don’t know at what price point KOTOR 2 will start at, but it may follow the same plan. Knights of the Old Republic 2: Sith Lords, which was published by a different company than the original (Bioware), was not as popular or well made as the original, but the entire KOTOR series helped to launch the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Here’s the original trailer for KOTOR 2.

The Jedi mentioned in the trailer, if you’ve never played these games, is Revan, one of the most iconic characters in Star Wars history, simply for his story. In Star Wars: The Old Republic (the MMO), Revan has his own cult following and is actually still alive, despite there being a thousand years since he first came onto the scene.

Revan was a Jedi Knight who became known for his outlandish and progressive ways, which were completely opposite of the sitting Jedi Council at the time. Revan went into deep space after the Mandalorian wars and found the ancient Sith Empire being rebuilt. The Emperor captured Revan and turned him to the Dark Side of the Force, making him Darth Revan. Though Revan was eventually redeemed, he was still known as a Dark Jedi, and became the focal point for Darth Bane creating the Rule of Two of the Sith. A rule that carried through to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Having both KOTOR 1 and 2 on mobile platforms should keep Star Wars fans plenty busy until The Force Awakens hits theaters in December…who am I kidding? It wont.
