If you are a fan of all things Star Wars, and you just happen to be a fan of Game of Thrones, then you are about to be one happy nerd…I know I am. Game of Thrones Season 5 aired its 8th episode this past Sunday night, during which, Jon Snow (Kit Harington), led a group of Night’s Watch men and wildlings with Tormund Giantsbane, in order to rescue a rather large group of wildlings who had taken refuge in the abandoned village of Hardhome.

During the rescue, the show’s ultimate antagonist–the Night’s King (leader of the White Walkers who looks a lot like a blue Darth Maul by the way), interrupted the proceedings by leading his horde of mindless and murderous zombies to attack and kill every living soul there. Luckily, Jon Snow was able to defeat one of the Night’s King’s lieutenants using his valyrian steel sword, Longclaw. The scene was a masterclass in fight choreography, and was  both visually stunning and amazing.

Of course, the only way to make a scene like that any better, is to add some Star Wars lightsaber action into the mix, and that’s exactly what the awesome folks over at Sawdust Films has done. Check it out.

See? I told you there was only one way to make it better. Sawdust Films also added Ash and the Army of Darkness into the re-worked scene, which made it one freaking fantastic mashup. With Disney opening the doors to the Star Wars universe for more films, books, television shows, and video games/toys, a Game of Thrones/Star Wars film would be the pinnacle of nerdom, a virtual geek Valhalla to which we all would love to visit in the afterlife. Too bad it won’t happen, but hey, a nerd can dream, right?
