Watch Han and Chewie age 40 years right before your very eyes!

Website GadgetLove.com has posted a GIF, of sorts, showing the cover of Vanity Fair’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens edition, but the magazine does something truly remarkable, by changing right before your eyes. Check it out.

Trippy, right? Much has been made of Chewbacca’s seemingly ageless look, compared to Han’s aged appearance, and this extremely amazing GIF allows us to compare in real time, just how different the pair looks. The first time Han and Chewie graced the silver screen, was in 1977 for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The companions remained loyal and by each other’s side, all the way through Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

When the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens aired, Han and Chewie were noticeably absent (along with the rest of the original cast), and it left us all wondering just how different our favorite space odd-couple would look. Then, the second teaser arrived, and the ending gave us all spine-tingling chills which elicited tears of joy from me personally. Three simple words was all it took, to drop a big ole nostalgia bomb, right on our heads.

Chewie…we’re home

As you can see from all the photographic evidence, it’s quite clear that Chewie is deeply concerned with his appearance – more than likely using Just for Men hair dye – and probably has a carry-on aboard the Millennium Falcon with all sorts of hair products and anti-aging creams.

All fun aside, I take real pleasure in the fact that Han Solo and Chewbacca will be gracing the big screen once again. And, although Harrison Ford certainly looks his age, the silver haired fox does not show any signs of slowing down, anytime soon. The Force Awakens is going to be a great film.
