Star Wars: The Force Awakens – What we know so far
Not only was J.J. bringing us a new Star Wars film, but he was using all that excitement surrounding the fanbase, to raise money for UNICEF, by creating a charitable campaign called Star Wars: A Force for Change. But this wasn’t just any charity drive, A Force for Change gave Abrams a chance to prove to the fans that his word to use real puppets and actors, instead of CGI heavy scenes, was true.
By the time it was all said and done, J.J. Abrams had spearheaded a campaign to raise $4.26 million for UNICEF. And, as part of the charity drive, a lucky fan who gave to the cause was chosen to have a role in The Force Awakens, meeting the cast and crew, and having full access to the set for him and his friend.
