What if Anakin had killed Palpatine in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith?

Have you ever wondered what the Star Wars story would be like if Anakin Skywalker — the chosen one who was to bring balance to the Force — had actually killed Emperor Palpatine instead of saving him and succumbed to the Dark Side? Well, thanks to Epicstream who showcased a comic strip from Teen Titans GO! art director Mr. Hipp, we can now get a look into what that may look like, but be warned, the feels may be too much to bear.

A Warning label reading: Feelings of nostalgia followed by uncontrollable fits of crying in the fetal position should have been attached to this wonderful comic. Seriously, Cat’s in the Cradle just keeps playing on loop in my head, every time I look at this strip.

My twins arrived just the other day
They came into the galaxy via Padme
But there were Jedi to kill and Obi-Wan to slay
They learned to walk while I was away
And Luke was using the Force, and as he grew
He’d say “I’m gonna be like Yoda, Dad
You know I’m gonna be like Yoda”

And Luke’s in the cradle and the silver spoon
Han Solo and that’s no moon
When you comin’ home, Dad
I don’t know when, but we’ll us the Force together then
You know we’ll have a good time then

My son turned ten just the other day
He said, “Thanks for the lightsaber, Old Ben, come on let’s play
can you teach me to Force choke like my dad” but Ben said “Not today
I’ve got Sand People to scare”, he said, “That’s okay
And he walked away but his smile never dimmed
And said, “I’m gonna be like him, yeah
You know I’m gonna be a Sith Lord like him”

And Luke’s in the cradle and the silver spoon
Han Solo and that’s no moon
When’s the Death Star gonna be done, Dad
I don’t know when, but we’ll use the Force together then
You know we’ll have a good time then

Well, he came from Tatooine just the other day
So much like a Jedi Master I just had to say
“Son, I’m proud of you, search your feelings for a while”
He shook his head and said with a smile
“What I’d really like, Dad, is rule the galaxy
See you later, can I have my lightsaber please”

And the Luke’s in the cradle and the silver spoon
Han Solo and that’s no moon
When you comin’ home son
I don’t know when, but we’ll kill the Emperor together then, Dad
You know we’ll have a good time then

I’ve long since retired as a Force ghost, my son’s moved away
I appeared to him just the other day
I said, “I’d like to see you use the Force Luke, if you don’t mind”
He said, “I’d love to, Dad, if I can find the time
You see I’m a Jedi Master and it’s a hassle and I gotta fix R2
But it’s sure nice talking to you, Dad
It’s been sure nice Force-ghost talking to you”

And as I faded away into the Force it occurred to me
He’d grown up just like me
My boy used the Force just like me

And the Luke’s in the cradle and the silver spoon
Han Solo and that’s no moon
When you comin’ home Luke
I don’t know when, but I’ll bring my sister then, Dad
The Force is strong in her too, then

Thank you Harry Chaplin for giving me a canvas to butcher your wonderfully feelsy song. I regret nothing…may the Force be with you.
