Will we see a new teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens at D23?
Deadline is reporting that Disney/Lucasfilm may unveil an all new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, this August, at the Disney Expo — D23. Fans of Star Wars were slightly let down at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, where in Hall H, no new trailer for Episode VII was shown. The Panel was more of a reunion of sorts, with the original four (Peter Mayhew was in the audience) were brought together in public for the first time, since The Force Awakens began filming.
At the Star Wars SDCC, J.J. Abrams made the point to announce that there would be a new trailer shown in the fall, which begs the question: Does August count as the fall? According to Deadline, that may be the case. The site is reporting that along with other Disney properties like Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is expected to debut a new trailer.
Both Marvel and Lucasfilm are expected to wow audiences on the same day. Here’s their schedule for D23:

That brief description sure reads to me like there will be new The Force Awakens footage shown at D23. After SDCC 2015, we’ve seen all the principle actors for the film, with the glaring exception of Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke) and Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), who’ve not made any sort of appearance at all.
Regardless of whether we get a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer or not, our very own Kyle Warnke will be live and in person at D23, reporting live the events of each day.
