Empire Magazine Teases Ewoks v Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is arguably one of the most anticipated movies of 2016. The excitement has been building with every piece of news that comes from the film. Empire Magazine has just revealed the cover for their September issue, and on the front is of course Batman and Superman. However, there is a small note in the top right corner that has drawn the attention of Star Wars: The Force Awakens fans, and it comes across as most peculiar.

A closer look at the top right corner of the cover, reveals a hint about Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

For quite some time now — especially after the second The Force Awakens teaser trailer — many fans and websites have been speculating that Kylo Ren somehow retrieves Darth Vader’s mask from its resting place atop Vader’s funeral pyre on Endor. Could Kylo face off against a group of Ewoks during his mission to reclaim Vader’s helmet (a powerful Sith artifact)?

We’ve seen Wicket himself, Warwick Davis, in the Behind the Scenes Video that was shown at the Star Wars Panel at SDCC 2015, so it’s a safe bet to assume the actor will be reprising his role as the most recognizable (and lovable) Ewok in the Star Wars universe, plus there’s this official confirmation from Star Wars:

So, will the Ewoks once again be called upon to defend the good guys? Have the Ewoks themselves been named guardians of the final resting place of redeemed fallen Jedi, Anakin Skywalker who was Darth Vader? If so, then Kylo Ren’s seeking out Vader’s ancient Sith artifacts would pit the Ewoks against the Sith…and I don’t like our little furry friends’ odds.

For now, we don’t have any pertinent information regarding just what exactly Empire’s piece on Ewoks v Kylo Ren actually is, but as soon as more information comes forth, you can bet we will catch you up on it. For now, we wait until September’s issue, to see what Empire has in store.

NOTE: September also coincides with Force Friday — September 4th — so we may have a big reveal coming then.
