Ewan McGregor Wants to do an Obi-Wan Star Wars Anthology Film
The hot button topic among Star Wars fans, at the moment, is if we will get to see a Star Wars Anthology film centered around our favorite Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. With Disney at the helm, the Star Wars franchise is getting a much needed shot in the arm, as it were, in regards to new films, games, and books, all based on a new official canon. And, even though there has been no official word from Disney, many fans are convinced that an Obi-Wan film will be the next big announcement.
Ewan McGregor, the face of Obi-Wan since the prequel trilogy, is doing his part. When asked on twitter by an inquiring fan, if he was in talks to do an Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Anthology film, McGregor responded, and although he denied the claim, he did give hope that it may eventually happen.
So, there it is, Ewan McGregor is officially down to film an Obi-Wan Star Wars film. The real question here is, is Disney going to pull the trigger? We already have Star Wars: Rogue One, which is filming now, and a Han Solo anthology film has been officially announced. So, if we are keeping with that time-frame, then an Obi-Wan film would make the most sense.
McGregor also seems to know exactly when he would like to see an Obi-Wan film take place…and it makes perfect sense. Showing what Obi-Wan was doing between Episodes 3 and 4, is exactly what Marvel is doing with their current Kenobi story-arc. To see that translated to the big screen, much like with Han Solo, would certainly be a dream come true for any Star Wars fan.
