More Clues Point to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Coming Soon

Just yesterday we told you about the rumor that the full-length Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer would be released online within the next two weeks. The rumor held that the trailer is done and making its way around the executive offices at Disney/Lucasfilm, and would be ready to release to the public very soon. Today, thanks to a contact at Star Wars 7 News, we now have an even more juicier clue as to the release date of that full-length trailer, and I’ve got to say, it definitely seems legit.

"“I spoke with friend who manages a chain Multiplex in Victoria, BC. He confirmed that IMAX tickets for Star Wars the Force Awakens will be available for online purchase 12:00 am, Monday October 19. He first confirmed the IMAX ticket availability, which he added would apply to all shows, not just IMAX. (If you can buy for one, you can buy for all). That’s when he told me, verbally, that The 19th of October is when we get the new trailer. I asked, “Is that for SURE?” And he nodded and said, “Yup.”He also told me this means for North America (Canada + US), not just here.”"

It’s important to remember here, that this is in no way a confirmation of a release date for the trailer, but it does make sense. If Disney wanted to maximize The Force Awakens‘ exposure to the ticket buying audience, then releasing the theatrical trailer, either a couple of days before tickets go on sale, or on the day of, is a smart move on their part.

With the New York Comic Con starting this week, and with Star Wars Rebels Season 2 premiering next week, Disney/Lucasfilm have the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the excitement and anticipation for the next episode in the Star Wars saga. Either way, I hope they do something soon, because it’s been a long time since we’ve had anything knew to obsess about, in regards to Episode VII. Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18.
