Comparing The Force Awakens Poster to the Previous 6 Star Wars Films

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is arguably the greatest sequel in the history of sequels. This film had one of the greatest reveals in cinematic history — “I am your father” — and one of the best exchanges in cinematic history — “I love you.” “I know.”

The love affair between Han Solo and Princess Leia is on center stage in the film’s poster, as is the film’s first scene and battle, the battle for Hoth. Once again, Darth Vader looms large over everything, menacingly threatening our heroes. Episode V’s poster is not my favorite, in fact I would rate it as the worst of the now seven posters we have.
