9. Leia Knowing Who Padme Is

Once again, the prequels take something and make it contradictory. It’s implied that Leia (and possibly Luke) did indeed have interaction with their mother before her death. Not a fleeting moment, but rather something a little more concrete that has left them wondering all these years. 

Obviously, this proves not to be the case as Padmé dies in childbirth.

How does Leia remember her mother if he hadn’t yet formed the cognitive ability to store a memory? It’s a litte bit irritating when two obviously contradictory plot elements are used because George Lucas forgot the films he already made — or maybe didn’t care. 

The scene in Return of the Jedi was powerful. But here’s another moment that we all felt deep inside us in the original trilogies get ruined by the prequels for their general lack of caring about much of anything other than CGI action and wooden dialogue.
