14. Jedi Super Speed

When Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are fighting the droidekas on the Trade Federation ship in Episode I, they decide that the battle is a standoff and that they shouldn’t waste time. They move at super speed down a hallway to make their escape.

For the rest of eternity, no Jedi ever uses that super speed ever again.

This moment just kind of screws with the rules, and does so for such a short time in such a random way that it just feels weird. Could the screenwriters really not give them any escape plan that doesn’t come out of nowhere? If you want Jedi to have accelerated movement speed, that’s fine, but have them use it in important situations.

Like maybe to run down a straight hallway when your master needs help fighting a Sith later in the movie. That would have been practical application of this rule, but instead we have been given a half-assed excuse for a poor edit instead of just acknowledging a poor edit and letting it be.
