Star Wars: The Force Awakens Behind the Scenes Videos Feature John Boyega and Daisy Ridley

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars John Boyega (Finn) and Daisy Ridley (Rey) are the focus of two new behind the scenes videos from the Disney Channel.

John Boyega and Daisy Ridley have quickly become Star Wars fan favorites. Before being cast in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the two relatively unknown actors were quite the enigma to fans of the franchise, as Ridley had never been in a film, and Boyega had really only shone in Attack the Block. However, through the various public appearances such as the Star Wars Celebration, as well as San Diego Comic Con — among several others — the pair have taken the scene by storm, and they do not look to be slowing down anytime soon.

The Disney Channel has been running behind the scenes videos from The Force Awakens, for a few weeks now, and this recent round places Boyega and Ridley firmly in the spotlight. Here’s John Boyega’s video:

First off, Boyega’s enthusiasm to carry the torch as a newcomer to the Star Wars franchise, is quite simply delightful and refreshing, and it has endeared him to nearly all Star Wars fans around the globe. Here’s Daisy Ridley’s video:

Here Ridley’s infectious smile is on display, as well as that amazing accent. Rey, in the film, uses that posh Coruscant accent that we have become used to from the Prequel Trilogy. Watching Ridley’s reaction as she climbs aboard a simulator that puts her in the iconic captain’s seat of the Millennium Falcon, is really quite neat. There are a few new scenes taken from both videos, like a different angle of Finn escaping the Super Star Destroyer:

There’s also the Falcon exiting the crash Super Star Destroyer left behind on the planet of Jakku:

And finally, we have a shot of the Falcon crash landing on the snowy planet that is home to the First Order’s Starkiller base:

This is the aftermath of another previously seen shot of the Falcon bursting through the trees of the same planet:

These behind the scenes videos are pretty cool, and as I said, it really is very refreshing to see these young stars who will be carrying the torch for a whole new Star Wars saga, excited and enthusiastic to be part of such a beloved franchise. Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters worldwide on December 17 and 18…which is now just over two weeks away.
