34. The Death Star vs The Borg Cube

Oh man, this is a tough one. Nothing strikes fear into the heart of the denizens of the Star Trek universe more, than the sight of a Borg Cube coming into orbit around their ship or planet. However, the same could also be said for the Death Star.

A planet sized space station that utilized the advantages of Hyperspace travel, the Death Star was literally the most terrifying and dangerous weapon in the employ of the Empire. Princess Leia experienced first hand, the might of the Death Star, when it destroyed her home planet of Alderaan. What made the Death Star so dangerous, was the fact that the Empire controlled it. Under the command of Grand Moff Tarkin, acting on the orders of Emperor Palpatine, the Death Star could disintegrate entire worlds at a whim.

As for the Borg Cube, it was no less terrifying. While not as large or fast as the Death Star, the Borg Cube’s arrival usually heralded the assimilation of a planet or ship’s entire population/crew.

Winner: The Death Star. This was actually a close call. The Death Star wins because of it’s ability to turn entire planets into a small asteroid-field. One Death Star would obliterate an entire fleet of Borg Cubes, and that is a perfect example of the military might of the Empire and the power of the Dark Side.
