14. X-Wing vs Away Shuttle
If the TIE Fighter is the symbol of the Empire, then the X-Wing is the symbol of the Rebellion and now Resistance. Trek‘s got small ships too…but, ummm it looks like a beached whale. Let’s check out the benefits of each.
X-Wing:
- Built for speed to counteract the TIE
- Engine — Four regular engines on the “X” foil, and a Hyperdrive allowing the X-Wing to make those long jumps.
- Armaments — Four laser cannons, and two proton torpedo launchers.
- Navigation — Astromech enabled
Away Shuttle:
- Built for carrying Away Teams
- Engines — Impulse Thrusters and Maneuvering Thrusters
- Armaments — None
Winner: X-Wing. Okay, so this wasn’t really a fair fight. We pretty much compared apples to oranges here, but since we already covered the Attack Fighters used in Trek, I figured we might as well go with another small craft. Sorry Trekkies, the X-Wing would obliterate your puny shuttle. But hey, at least the Away Shuttle has weapon lockers inside…you know…in case you actually land in one piece.
