13. Republic Clones vs Federation Cadets

In Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, a Grand Army of the Republic was put into play, after the Galactic Senate gave Chancellor Palpatine the authority to do so. The Clone Army was created on the planet of Kamino in what can only be described as a intergalactic space puppy mill. The Clones were ordered by a mysterious Jedi Master named Sifo-Dyas, who was tricked by and then murdered by the man he thought was his friend, Dooku.

The Clones proved militarily efficient, and were used as the spear point of the Republic Army, with the Jedi Knights serving as Generals, leading their Clones. It was all part of a grand master-plan on the part of the Dark Lord of the Sith, however, and when the time came, Darth Sidious nee-Palpatine ordered the Jedi to be purged with Order 66. The Clones, through no fault of their own, turned on their Jedi Generals, and killed them.

The Cadets of the Federation of Planets train rigorously at Starfleet Academy. Whether they are training to be a ship’s medical officer, translator, or engineering, there is something for everyone. And then there’s the officer training, in which James T. Kirk and other Starfleet captains and commanders went through.

Winner: The Clones. While Starfleet thoroughly trains its cadets, they are still fallible. The Clones were born and bred to be lethal and efficient killers; loyal soldiers who would carry out any and every order given them by their superiors…even if it meant risking their own lives.
