47. Super Star Destroyer vs Klingon Bird of Prey
Nothing strikes fear into the heart of a Rebellious Uprising, than the sight of a Super Star Star Destroyer dwarfing that Rebellion’s tiny blockade runner. In that regard, Star Wars has those in spades. However, Star Trek has its fair share of cool warships, like the Klingon Bird of Prey. Let’s compare two.
Super Star Destroyer:
- Size — Varies from large t0 Space Station. Largest recorded: 19,000 meters
- Armements — Over 5,000 Turbolasers and Ion Cannons. Tractor Beam Projectors. Assault Concussion Missile Launchers. Gravity Well Projectors. Super Laser Cannons.
- Propulsion — 13 Colossal Engine Thrusters. Hyperdrive System.
Klingon Bird of Prey:
- Size — Averages around 110 meters.
- Armements — Fore and aft Photon Torpedo Launchers. Two Disruptor Cannons, and Phasers.
- Propulsion — Warp Engine
Winner: Super Star Destroyer…obviously. Look, maybe this isn’t exactly the most fair of comparisons, but tell that to Neil deGrasse Tyson who probably thinks the very idea of a Super Star Destroyer is an affront to science. If the SSD went up against a Klingon Bird of Prey, it would be an all out slaughter. There aren’t enough Klingon Birds of Prey in the Klingon fleet to take down one SSD. So, if you’re a Star Trek fan singing the praises of your pretty little ships, then I’m sorry, your argument is now invalid.
