  • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
  • Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Best Moment

When you save the galaxy from the most evil things about it, that usually shoots to the top of the list of the best things you’ve ever done. Luke saving Darth Vader and reawakening Anakin Skywalker within in was the best thing he did in his story arc. It was the moment that brought about the downfall of the Empire and brought peace — probably temporary — to the galaxy.

Worst Moment

There was a moment in The Empire Strikes Back when Luke could have stayed on Dagobah and continued his training with Yoda. He refused to do so, and it led to Han getting frozen, Luke losing his hand and the Empire getting a lead on the Rebels. It was the poorest decision he made — aside from unknowningly kissing his sister — and warped the character arcs of more than a few of his friends.

Breakdown

Luke is a hero of the galaxy and the great hope that so many leaned on to find balance in the universe. That’s a lot of psychological pressure, which is why he goes off the deep end in The Force Awakens — or so we think — but he was someone that we all identified with. One day he was just a farm boy and the next he was the savior of the universe.
