8. Boba Fett

Boba is an awesome villain, even though he does little and says even less, at least in the films. He actually is a lot cooler in theory than he is in practice. He barely does any action stuff in the movie and then is dispatched pretty handily by a blind Han Solo in Return of the Jedi. However, his coolness spawned the bounty hunter aspect of the Star Wars universe, which has become a critical part of the lore and given us many great villains.

Boba is a lot more involved in the Legends universe. As only a teenager, he leads a team of hunters that include Aurra Sing. He also does stand out as a bit of a lost soul, given that he is just a clone and the only person he ever knew was beheaded right before his eyes.  That’s a pretty good setup for one of the best mercenaries in the lore.

He’s got a pretty cool set of gadgets. A unique blaster, wrist rockets, flamethrower, jetpack missile, and special ship is a pretty good armory for a bounty hunter like him. He also works in the same way as Darth Vader. The right voice and the right costume make up for a lack of face or substantial dialogue. He says only a few words and shows no emotion.

The expanded stories about his adventures add to his interest. Regardless, the fact that he has such a memorable role with so little actual action shows how strong the right character in the right atmosphere can be.
