30 Best Star Wars Villains of All-Time
27. Triclops
Most people might not know who this is. Let me explain. In the mid- 1990s, Paul and Hollace Davis wrote a series called Jedi Prince that took place immediately after the original trilogy. The books are…well, not all that good, and their role in the lore has been minimized. However, Triclops, the son of the Emperor by virtue of force-related experimentation, is actually a really compelling character.
He’s a pacifist who hates war and is sadly made a slave because the Emperor feared he would become more powerful. He’s also insane and has violent dreams that the Empire used for ideas for new weapons. The interesting thing about him is that he is both of those people at the same time.
It’s also interesting because for a long time, he is a myth. The idea that the Emperor has a son is ridiculous, and the idea that he is a lowly slave is even more unbelievable
It’s hard not to feel for him. Even when he starts killing indiscriminately at Han and Leia’s wedding, there’s a real sadness to seeing someone who could be good be tortured into being evil and unstable. He might be higher on the list but for the fact that he isn’t that much of a villain and even he does not save the problems of the stories he comes from. Regardless, he is a strong character and a good semi-villain.
