2. Anakin Skywalker vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode III)

Student vs. Former Master…

By the time they finally meet, Anakin is now Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the only Jedi left. This is the battle we were all waiting for! We knew it was coming, and it definitely did not disappoint.

After Padmé learns of Anakin’s betrayal, she travels to Mustafar to confront him of the accusations. Obi-Wan sneaks on her the ship to protect her if things go poorly, and they do rather quickly.

Obi-Wan steps off the ship, and after a few words about Anakin’s betrayal, the epic battle begins!

Overall, I don’t know how much I liked the lava, smoke, heat, and conditions playing a part in the battle. It was like watching two, great NFL passing offenses play for the Super Bowl in the snow. I want to see these two greats battle on an even playing field.

I do have to say that it was very fitting how the battle ended. One of Anakin’s flaws was his supreme confidence and belief that he could do anything, beat anyone.

While in the river of lava, Anakin leaps recklessly to the bank, although Obi-Wan has the high ground. Obi-Wan severs his arm and both legs at the knees, leaving Anakin helpless and on fire on the bank of the river of lava.

Darth Sidious arrives just in time to save him and preserve what’s left of Darth Vader’s future.
