9. Darth Vader vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode IV)
This is it! The first lightsaber duel in the history of the Star Wars films!
After the tractor beam pulls the Millennium Falcon, along with Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and Obi-Wan Kenobi into the Death Star and the gang saves Prince Leia in Episode IV, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader meet for one last time in an epic lightsaber showdown.
The duel gives the gang just long enough to get to the Millennium Falcon and leave with the Princess.
Obviously, the special effects and visual effects leave a lot to be desired. Can you imagine how epic this battle would be if it was made in 2015? It would be one of the most epic things we’ve ever seen!
With that said, the scene is perfect for within the larger story. An aging Obi-Wan isn’t going to give Darth Vader much of a fight anyway. It’s fitting, after everything we know now, that Obi-Wan and Darth Vader had one last face-off.
