If you didn’t get a chance to see it in the theaters and you don’t think you’ll be able to, you’re going to be in for a long wait until the movie is available for you to purchase on Blu-ray and watch from the comfort of your home theater.

Movies used to take at least six months from the time of their theatrical release to the time you could go to the store and pick up a DVD or Blu-ray copy, but the silver lining to waiting for the Blu-ray release is that the turnaround has shrunk in recent years.

The turnaround for a Blu-ray and DVD release is closer to three-six months now instead of six-nine months on average. Therefore, the projected date for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to be available for purchase on Blu-ray is April-May.

Granted this is only a projected date, but when more details are released about the upcoming blu-ray release date, this article will have updates with the information you need to stay current on the latest news and rumors about The Force Awakens.
