The Vatican Newspaper Hated The Force Awakens
As more people see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, more and more reviews are beginning to pour in from every news outlet, blog, and internet website out there. And, with such a huge impactful film hitting the big-screen, the Vatican decided it needed to weigh-in…
When looking for great reviews on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, one usually would not look to the Vatican and its newspaper. But, that hasn’t stopped L’Osservatore Romano from bashing what many are calling one of the best Star Wars films in the Star Wars franchise. According to NBC News, the Vatican paper had some extremely unflattering things to say about The Force Awakens.
"“Calling the movie “confused and hazy,” a review in Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano said that the film “fails most spectacularly” in its representation of evil. It added that the blockbuster “overdoes the darkness.””"
What about The Force Awakens was confusing or hazy? Also, I would think the continued shattering of every box office record in existence is proof that Episode VII doesn’t fail, at all. Clearly, the reviewer for the Vatican paper has never really seen a Star Wars film, and I highly doubt they have even seen The Force Awakens. The review continues to confound with this statement:
"“A twisted updated which fits today’s tastes and a public more accustomed to sitting in front of a computer than in a cinema, influenced by the sloppiest current action films derived from the world of video games.”"
Again, the Vatican’s reviewer is the most disconnected and clueless person on the face of the planet, if they truly feel that The Force Awakens is deserving of their insipid and ridiculous review. Shame on you L’Osservatore Romano, for allowing such a journalistic travesty to be connected to your name. This review belongs in a garbage chute, along with Captain Phasma…a joke the Vatican reviewer probably wouldn’t get.
