Star Wars Theory: Jedi Temple Guards Became Inquisitors Who Then Became Knights of Ren

In a new theory posed by YouTuber Dash Star, the Jedi Temple Guard were supposedly turned to the Dark Side of the Force by Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious, and made into the Inquisitors from Star Wars Rebels…

The theory from Dash Star states that the Inquisitors from Star Wars Rebels started out as Jedi Temple Guards — introduced in Star Wars The Clone Wars. Then, when Darth Vader was defeated on the Death Star above Endor, by his son Luke Skywalker, the Inquisitors were gathered together by Supreme Leader Snoke who fashioned them into the Knights of Ren. I like how Dash correlates Rebels’ upcoming episode where Kanan will confront a former Jedi Temple Guard who is concerned with Ezra’s possible pull to the Dark Side. If this Temple Guard is a hold-out, and if he and a few others were able to escape the great Jedi purge of Order 66, then they are obviously not part of the Inquisitor corruption from Darth Sidious.

However, the comment from Dave Filoni is also a huge clue, as well. I too have watched The Clone Wars all the way through several times, and cannot remember ever seeing the Grand Inquisitor. It makes absolute perfect sense that he was a Jedi Temple Guard on Coruscant during the Clone Wars and was corrupted by Sidious, and even possibly helped carry out Order 66 against his fellow Jedi.

I am a fan of connecting the Star Wars films to the animated shows to the books…I enjoy an all inclusive universe. And, if this theory turns out to be correct (and by the way, it is pretty darn sound), then it means that the folks at Disney/Lucasfilm are still working hard to bring it all together into one cohesive storyline.
