Watch — Star Wars: The Force Awakens as told by Emoji

Just when you think you’ve seen every version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens there is, on the internet, Disney comes along and delightfully adds a new way to enjoy the story…

Disney’s “As Told by Emoji” series on YouTube has become quite popular. Season 1 had over 50 million views, so the community interest in this light-hearted way to retell Disney stories, is at an all time high. Now, Disney has turned its eye on the emoji telling of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which really is a fun way to look at Episode VII. Check it out:

Can we just say, the Dark Side has never looked so cute! Give me Kylo Ren emoji destroying things, all day long, and I will be a happy Star Wars fan. Seriously, who knew the mass eradication of an entire system could be so adorable?

There are so many great tongue-in-cheek moments in this mini The Force Awakens adaptation, that I wish my iPhone could tell the story just like Disney has. I love the fact that emoji Rey and emoji Kylo Ren use the Force to control the slider that would reveal the map to Luke Skywalker. Oh, and just in case there is that one random person out there who hasn’t seen the film, Disney perfectly throws in a spoiler alert right in the middle of the Han and Ben Solo scene.

Finally, the “Chewber” scene is probably the most hilarious thing I’ve seen, in a Star Wars parody, ever. Poor Chewbacca…he watched his buddy get stabbed, then had to clock in and drive some hipster chick and her passed out boyfriend home, after what clearly was a night of too much partying. Hey, at least he got 5 stars!
