If you’re a fan of Star Wars: The Old Republic, and in particular the fallen Jedi turned Sith Lord, turned Gray Jedi, Revan, then boy do we have a treat for you…
When visual effects artist, director of photography and animator, Steven Shulgach contacted me about his fan-film project on Kickstarter called Revan: The Fall, I knew I had to get involved. We here at Dork Side of the Force are huge backers of fan-film Star Wars projects, and when someone reaches out to us to help get the word out, then we do what we can. Here’s what we know, so far:
"Inspired by the Award Winning Video Game “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” and prequel to the 2015 Star Wars Fan Film “Revan”"
If you recognize some of the actors from the trailer, then you aren’t wrong. the cast consist of some of the originals from the first fan-made Revan film, Revan.
According to Shulgach, his group of friends who made the first film never really thought the first Revan film was that great, as they made it when we were kids. So now, as professional artists in their own respective fields, they’ve decided to come together once again, and film Revan: The Fall. (Disclaimer: Revan: The Fall is a non-profit fan-film).
So, if you’re a fan of Star Wars fan-films, and want to support the old Expanded Universe, or you just love seeing your fellow Star Wars fan do great things behind the camera with characters that you’ve come to know and love, then head over to Steven Shulgach’s Revan: The Fall Kickstarter fan-film page, and get to donating, so we get get this project fully funded as fast as possible! Let’s show Disney/Lucasfilm that “Legends” or the “Expanded Universe” does in fact matter to us (in the most respectful way possible please), and get this film funded and out there for everyone to see. May the Force be with you Steven and company, and from everyone here at Dork Side of the Force, we stand with you.
